I was ten years old when I received my first Vivitar point and shoot camera, complete with batteries and 110 film cartridge.  My little world changed as I viewed it through that simple lens. 

I remember using my birthday and babysitting money to send rolls and rolls and ROLLS of film off to Clark Color Labs.  I’d check our tin mailbox almost hourly until the return package arrived, heavy with double prints for sharing with friends, family and anyone else I could capture through my viewfinder. 

From those early years, it’s given me great joy to photograph life as it happens, and to share those moments with the people in the pictures.  So it comes as no surprise that my Literacy Degree and my love for photography are melding together in order to best tell the poignant, precious stories of people’s lives.
